Before we roasted great coffee, we were the people willing to detour for it - the kind of cup you think about the night before, wondering what made it so good.

That curiosity pushed us to learn why certain coffees stand out: where they’re grown, how they’re processed, and the people behind them. The more we learned, the more intentional our approach became.

Today, we roast in small batches, focus on the details, and work with partners who share our respect for quality and the people who make it possible.

It’s a humble origin story: just people who love great coffee and want to share something honest, thoughtful, and genuinely tasty. If our coffee gives you one of those quiet “wow” moments, then the detour was worth it.

Before our roasters are even switched on, people have already been working for months - on hillsides, in fields, and in communities where families have cared for these plants long before the beans reach us.

We work with sourcing partners like Café Imports and Langdon Coffee Merchants because they’ve built long-standing relationships at origin and prioritise supporting smallholder farmers. Their focus on fair pay, traceability, and long-term stability gives farming families the chance to plan for their future, not just their next harvest.

We’re not the heroes of this process, and we don’t pretend to be. Our role is straightforward: choose responsibly, roast with intention, and respect the people whose work makes everything we do possible.

Every bag we roast is a quiet acknowledgement of them. A reminder that great coffee begins far from our roastery, with the people who deserve the spotlight more than anyone.
